There’s Water! Now What?

What does it mean when a water heater bursts?

Recently, a homeowner came home to find a steamy, wet mess throughout the first level of their home!  They found the source of the problem- a failed hot water heater valve!  They shut off the water and began trying to soak up the water with towels.  They knew they needed professional help with this emergency!

SERVPRO of South Mecklenburg County was called in and we immediately responded to this situation.  We quickly determined that the water had not just soaked the floor!  It had traveled through the carpet, tile, hardwoods, and the sub-flooring.  We also discovered it had gone through the insulation and into the crawlspace.

We knew the homeowner was worried and upset about the extent of the damage.  Our technicians walked the homeowner through the process we would follow and answered all of his questions.

And then we went to work!  We secured their personal belongings and began drying immediately.  We used our state-of-the-art restoration equipment and our highly trained technicians constantly monitored, adjusted, and evaluated the situation so that we quickly made it "Like it never even happened."  In the end, this homeowner was not only relieved but very pleased with the outcome both inside his home and in the crawlspace.  We were so happy we had been able to help get their lives back to normal so quickly!

SERVPRO of South Mecklenburg County is here to help you should you ever need us, just give us a call at (704) 840-6112.
